What to Expect
DAY 1: Arrival
Arrive Addis Ababa and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Addis Ababa.
DAY 2: Fly to Bahar Dar
Fly to Bahar Dar. Visit the Blue Nile Falls and enjoy a boat ride on Lake Tana to visit the famous ancient island monasteries. Overnight in Bahar Dar.
DAY 3: Fly to Gondar
Fly to Gondar. Visit the 17th century Castles, the bath of Emperor Fasilidas, the monastery of Qwesquam and the icon rich church of Debre Berhan Silassie. Overnight in Gondar.
DAY 4: Fly to Lalibela
Fly to Lalibela. Visit the 11 remarkable rock-hewn churches. Overnight in Lalibela.
DAY 5: Church Excursion in Lalibela
After breakfast, optional excursion to one of the churches outside the town of Lalibela the Na’akuto La’ab Cave church, Asheten Mariam or Yimrehane Kiristos. Overnight in Lalibela.
DAY 6: Fly to Axum
Fly to Axum. Visit the St. Mary of Zion cathedral where, legend has it, the original Ark of the covenant is housed, stelaes, tombs, museum, and palace. Overnight in Axum.
DAY 7: Fly to Addis Ababa
Fly to Addis Ababa. Enjoy a leisure day of shopping at Mercato or a sight seeing tour of the city. Overnight in Addis Ababa.
DAY 8: Tour to Addis Ababa and Mount Entoto
Sight seeing tour of Addis Ababa that includes: Museums, Monuments, Churches, and Mount Entoto for the panoramic view of the city. Evening farewell dinner party and then departure.
